It is a dream of every citizen of our country to see his/her country clean and green .

Yes, it is a dream but it will remain a dream only if we do not take steps to make our country clean and green.

So, what are the steps according to you which are appropriate for making India clean and green?

According to me,the prior requirement is to change the mentality of Indian citizens i.e. to change their casual approach towards cleanliness.

What do you mean by "Casual approach towards cleanliness"?

[Jyoti]

According to me, we Indians are very less careful towards hygiene. Most of the people even spit wherever they want, as they are unaware of it's consequences like health problems, etc.

I think the main reason for uncleanliness in India is that workers who indulge in cleaning jobs hardly get any respect within the society. Unless the mentality towards these workers and their job changes, we cannot expect the mass participation.

Also, people keep their home clean, but when it comes to surroundings like streets, etc. nobody cares because according to them, it is the duty of government even though they themselves are responsible for throwing garbage and making their surroundings dirty.

Apart from making our Delhi clean, we have to control pollution in our environment and plant as many trees as we can.

[Shalini]

I think people should understand that making our Delhi pollution free is the responsibility of every citizen and not just the government.

So what according to you are the main objectives and responsibilities for making DelhiDelhi clean and green?

[Vanjul]

According to me, firstly we should organize different awareness programmes on cleanliness and sanitation and secondly, construction of toilets should be there in schools and public places.

Also, we should make people aware about the health issues. Not only this, proper management of solid and liquid wastage should be there.

Also, for making India clean, Clean India Campaign was officially launched on 2nd October 2014 at Rajpath, New Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself cleaned the road.

Also, Green India Campaign is a national mission for Green India approved by the Prime Minister's Council on climate change. The aim of the mission is to increase the quantityand quality of 10 million hectare of forest area.

The goal of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is that by 2019, Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary, every city, town and villages is to be 'clean' , that is they will have pucca toilets for all, clean drinking water, waste disposal systems and clean roads and lanes.

Mahatma Gandhi said that I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.

So, at the end, we must all pledge together that we will take required steps on our part to make Delhi clean and green .
